What is the Solstice Row?
Hosted by the Victoria City Rowing Club and open to all rowers at Victoria Rowing Society and guests from other clubs — the Elk Lake Summer Solstice Row is a dawn-to-dusk fundraising endurance challenge. Teams and individuals row and erg continuously from sunrise to sunset, raising pledges per kilometer for fleet replacement and equipment.
Team or Individual
Enter solo or as a relay team. Singles, doubles, quads, and eights share one boat and one erg — rotating all day long.
Raise Pledges per km
Rally your network to pledge $/km. The more you row, the more you raise for new boats, oars, and coaching equipment.
Row Elk Lake
Follow the scenic whole-lake flow pattern on beautiful Elk Lake. Erg on the tarmac between boat rotations to keep the km ticking.
Prizes & Fun
Compete for Best Team Name, Most Kilometers, and Most Money Raised. Hourly raffles, 50/50 draw, live music, and BBQ all day.
Our Cause
Fleet replacement (boats), oars, and coaching equipment (radios, megaphones).
Format & Rules
Teams share one boat and one erg. No simultaneous rowing and erging. Hand-tag all transitions. Row the full Elk Lake loop pattern, switching to the erg between boat runs. Log start/stop times with GPS and erg PM5 screenshots.
